Teak from Central Java is universally recognized as the finest teak in the world. Very few regions have the right combination of soil, weather, and humidity to grow top quality teak furniture. For our teak furniture we use only Premium Grade "A"plantation grown teak wood harvested in accordance with strict sustainable forestry practices set by the Indonesian governmental agency Perum Perhutani.
Unlike any other variety of wood, the natural characteristic of teak is its durability in all weather conditions. Teak is undeniably the best wood for outdoor furniture. Don't be fooled by cheaper and lesser quality woods. Teak is a uniquely dense grained hardwood, its high natural oil and rubber content continually preserves teak wood so it can be left outdoors for years.
All of our premium teak furniture is made of only the highest quality teak and are kiln dried for four weeks to 12% residual moisture which reduces swelling, warping, and cracking then sanded to a smooth finish. All teak items are constructed with mortise and tenon joinery and teak dowels at stress points and finished with marine-grade brass fittings.
